Recommended for Preparatory Grades

In a tragic incident, a flight operated by Nepal’s Tara Airlines faced a terrible accident near the beautiful town of Jomsom. This devastating event occurred just six minutes before the plane was scheduled to land in Jomsom, which is a popular tourist destination in Central Nepal.

Tara Airlines is one of the two major domestic airlines in Nepal, providing important transportation services in the mountainous regions of the country.

The ill-fated flight, carrying a total of 22 individuals, including four passengers from India, encountered a terrible mishap in the remote and mountainous Western Mustang district. The journey had begun earlier in the day, at 9:55 AM, from the city of Pokhara.

Tara Airlines, being the newest and largest airline service provider in the Nepalese mountains, aimed to offer safe and convenient travel options for people in the region.
