The Gujarat Titans are on fire and leading with 12 points and a Net Run Rate of +0.532. They’re followed by the Rajasthan Royals in second place. The Lucknow Super Giants are in third place with a Net RR of +0.639.
And guess what? The Mumbai Indians have set a record for losing every first match of the season for the past 11 years. Poor guys! They’re in fourth place followed by CSK and RCB in the fifth spot with 10 points.
Highlights from IPL matches on 3 May!
-
Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings
- Both teams were in full swing, and Lucknow Super Giants had batted well to score 125 runs in 19.2 overs before rain interrupted play. Ayush Badoni from LSG was the only player who stood out by scoring an unbeaten 59 runs. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings’ bowlers, Moeen Ali and Maheesh Theekshana, bowled brilliantly to make early inroads in the LSG team’s batting order.
- But then, it started raining cats and dogs, and even the minimum five overs of the CSK innings couldn’t be played. So, the match had to be called off, and both teams had to share points. It’s like when you and your best friend have a tie in a game of rock-paper-scissors, and you both get the same number of points.
- Also, there was a funny incident where the match had a delayed start because of the wet outfield, but it didn’t take long for the rain to return and halt the proceedings in the final over of the first innings. Can you imagine playing a match where it’s raining so much that you can’t even see the ball properly? It must have been like playing in a swimming pool instead of on a cricket field!

Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians
- In the latest match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, the batters went bonkers and smashed the ball all over the park! The bowlers had no chance as the batters made merry on a batting-friendly track at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
- Mumbai Indians put up a spectacular show, securing a commanding six-wicket win over Punjab Kings. The Mumbai batters were on fire with Ishan Kishan playing a stylish knock of 75 runs off just 41 balls. Suryakumar Yadav also played a fantastic inning, scoring 66 off just 31 balls, leaving the opposition bowlers scratching their heads.
- The Punjab Kings batters also put up a brave fight with Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma smashing some mighty sixes and fours. However, their efforts were in vain as Mumbai chased down the mammoth target of 401 runs with ease.
- This victory was a crucial one for Mumbai, who were struggling earlier in the season. With 10 points from nine matches, they are now placed sixth on the points table. On the other hand, Punjab Kings stumbled to seventh place after this defeat.
- It was a high-scoring encounter, with over 400 runs being scored in just 39 overs! And to top it off, the batters were hitting the ball all over the place, making it an exciting match to watch. So, hold on to your seats, there’s more IPL action coming your way!
