  • Tamil and Sinhalese people from south India and Sri Lanka were the first settlers in the Maldives.
  • The official language of the country is called Dhivehi.

  • Maldives is considered to be one of the most ideal holiday destinations in the world, attracting a lot of visitors.
  • Thus, the tourism industry is the main economic industry of Maldives.
  • Its white sandy beaches, crystalline lagoons and coconut palms are a delight to behold.
  • Maldives’ lagoons are also globally known to be the perfect spot for snorkelling.
