Taylor Swift wins artist of the year at American Music Awards 2020

The 2020 American Music Awards (AMAs) was held on Sunday night at The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, US. The AMAs is an annual American music awards show.
For the awards, artists are nominated (entered as candidates) depending on their sales, social activity on social networks and video views. Then the public votes for the winners. The AMAs is believed to be the world’s largest fan-voted awards show.
Taylor Swift won artist of the year for a record sixth time. She also won music video of the year and favourite female pop artist. She holds the record for most AMAs won by a single artist (32).
Doja Cat won new artist of the year while Becky G won favourite female Latin artist. Other winners included BTS, The Weeknd, and Bad Bunny.
Actress Taraji P. Henson hosted the show, which had a small audience and live performances. Performers included Katy Perry, Shawn Mendes and Justin Beiber, The Weeknd and Megan Thee Stallion.
