National Achievement Survey to conduct a survey in school

Education survey to be conducted in schools across India

Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, schools have reopened all over the country. As we know, the pandemic and the lockdowns have affected education greatly. Though there were online and digital platforms, everyone was not able to access them. Now, the Ministry of Education will conduct a nationwide education survey on 12 November 2021 called the National Achievement Survey (NAS).

The survey will try to understand the difficulties that the teachers and students have faced during the pandemic. Also, they will see the kind of new learnings that are followed by the teachers and students. This survey will be applicable for students of classes 3rd, 5th, 7th and 10th.

National Achievement Survey 2021

Approximately, 1.23 lakh schools in 733 districts across 36 states and union territories in government and private schools would take part in the survey. The Ministry of Education revealed that all the requirements related to the survey would be done by NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training). It will include the development, testing and finalisation of test requirements. Moreover, the survey tests would be administered by CBSE in collaboration with the states and union territories.

NAS 2021 would cover both central government and state government schools and also government-aided schools and private schools across the country. The test would be conducted in different subjects for the different classes of the students. They will conduct it in language, mathematics and EVS for Classes 3 and 5. For class 8, it will be in language, mathematics, science and social science for Class 8. Moreover, the survey for Class 10 will also include English as an added subject to the list.
