The Three ‘R’s

Have you ever thought where the waste from our house goes to? Food waste goes to bio-bins or backyards. But many other materials are burnt. Burning of plastics releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This causes air pollution and global warming. Some wastes that are dumped causes soil pollution too. I feel by following the three ‘R’ s we can save our environment.

REDUCE: Buy and use only what you really need.

REUSE: Reuse cloth bags and reusable plastic containers, donate used clothes and furniture.

RECYCLE: Plastics can be recycled and used. If there are many recycling centres, there would be no plastic waste on Earth.

As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see”. So let us all start following the three ‘R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
