Happy Krishna Janmashtami

Krishna Janmashtami

Krishna Janmashtami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. He is believed to be an incarnation (avatar) of Lord Vishnu.

Hindus believe that Lord Krishna was born was to set the Earth free from evil. So, this festival symbolises that.

People celebrate Krishna Janmashtami on Ashtami (the eighth day) of the Shravana month according to the Hindu lunisolar calendar. The Shravana month generally falls in between July and September in our regular calendar. This year that day falls on 19th August.
