India at 75! Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Overcoming Gender, Caste and Ethnic biases
India is a land of diverse culture with a wide variety of regional differences as well as cultural variations. There are numerous ethnic and tribal groups in our country which have their own culture, tradition and speaks their language. However, these ethnic groups make our country more united than ever before. Also, our society is divided into various castes, not based on the work but the basis of birth.
With these tremendous variations in our community, brings many disputes between different community groups of our country. There is a lot of discrimination in our society concerning gender, caste, religion, etc. This discrimination has to lead to many fights, and the community in the minority feels as inferior to the other community. Thus, it undermines the spirit of our countries progress.
Even there is discrimination based on gender, in our country, females are considered to be inferior to males and are also paid less for the same amount of work. Women don’t get equal opportunities in life.
However, our country has developed over a long period. Our society has conquered the rate at which discrimination was going on. Many provisions have been made in our constitution to provide equal rights to all the community groups, whether they are in minority or majority. No one shall be discriminated based on gender, caste, etc.
A lot of schemes, as well as programmes, have been implemented by the government of India in providing aid to the sufferers of discrimination and to prevent biases on whatever grounds. Even women have got equal rights, and they proved themselves. They have reached the heights, which also others are not able to reach and are participating in each sphere of life.
Not only the rules of our constitution have changed, to prohibit discrimination, but also the rigid mindset of community leaders have changed. Abolition of discrimination has increased the unity in our country and helps in the progress of our country and makes our country self-reliant.
