‘MERA SUNDAY, CRICKET KE LIYE’

Karthika Jithesh, a 10th Grader from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kannur, is running a series of poems on cricket and cricketers every Sunday with us. We are very sure, you all will enjoy and relate to the players and Karthika!

We call him the “KING”,

Of the “jungle of cricket”.

He does everything in style, like a run machine.

He’s known for his faculty on the field.

He shines with the bat, and roars like a lion,

He runs like a cheetah and catches the ball like a tiger.

And for this, he is known as the “king”.

Some feel he is truculent,

But better you know, for that he is a good captain.

Win or a loss, he takes it with a lesson.

Trying for the best again in the next.

He adds everything to the scoreboard,

To brandish the team-high,

And to be well known for his country.

And now better you know, who the “king” is,

Who “VIRAT KOHLI’ is?
