Ms. Seema Yadav, NCS Goa, message on Teachers’ Day

Ms. Seema Yadav, PRT, NCS Goa, shares her views on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2022 on Curious Times.

Curious Times, the leading school newspaper and children’s website is pleased to bring perspectives of Teachers and Educationists to our readers on Teachers Day 2022. Over the past 3 years a lot has changed in the education sector, teaching methods, curricula, use of technology, introduction of NEP 2020, emphasis on mental wellbeing of children and how schools shape careers of next the generation. We believe that the energy and enthusiasm of the leaders to adapt to these changes will help not just leading through the crisis of learning gaps but also reimagining the future of education.

Ms. Seema Yadav, PRT, NCS Goa shares her views on important topics:

In my opinion teachers will play a major role even in the future. Teachers and technology will go hand in hand. Technology will only further improve the art of teaching and will help enhance learning. There are many positive changes that have happened due to New Education Policy 2020. NEP will cater to each child in the class and motivate each and every child to perform. Schools can contribute to the making the students career-ready by providing platform for various vocational subjects.

Since many decades mental health hasn’t been regarded as illness. In the 21st century, awareness about mental health is increasing. Teachers need to have frequent interactions and good connect with the students. Student shouldn’t be pressurized for anything.

Conflicts in curriculum puts undue pressure on students. Competitive exams should not have different curriculum than schools. Coaching classes should only aid the student in understanding concepts of higher level which are required for competitive exams.

As far as teaching as a profession is concerned, the irony is that teaching profession isn’t highly valued profession. We need to change this perspective and bring due importance to the teaching and teachers.

Happy Teachers Day to all my colleagues and teachers on Curious Times.
