Technology and innovation: 139-year-old house “moves” to new location

Earlier, we read about an old school building being moved to another location in Shanghai, China.

Last week, an old house in San Francisco city, US was also “rolled” to another location.

The house is 139 years old. It is known as the Englander House. It has six bedrooms and three bathrooms. The house was loaded on a machine. This was operated by remote control and moved to a new location. It took eight years to plan the move.

Hundreds of people watched the event and put up photos and videos on social media.

Technology and innovation to save history

Old houses like these are considered to be important records of history. But sometimes, new buildings or roads need to be built in their places. So, instead of destroying them, officials try to move them.
