While you can play for fun, there are also people who play Fornite and other online games professionally (pro gamers). This means they join teams and get paid to play the game and also compete in tournaments. Such online game tournaments are called esports.

Joseph Deen is an 8-year-old boy living in California, US. He has become the youngest-ever paid Fortnite player. He signed with an esports team called Team 33 in December last year.

For now, as he is too young, Joseph cannot play in tournaments that offer prize money. But he did get US$33,000 (about ₹24 lakh) to join the team.

Joseph has been playing Fortnite since he was four years old.  He also likes playing the piano.
But is he the youngest player ever?
However, he is not the youngest-ever pro video game player. As per the Guinness Book of Records, American player Victor De Leon III is the youngest. He became one at the age of seven in 2005.
