Photobombing by a giant manta ray

Have you ever “photobombed” someone else’s photo?

“Photobombing” is when someone spoils a photograph by showing up without warning when the photo is taken.

In recent photos taken from a beach in Florida, US, you can see a giant manta ray “photobombing” a photo of a surfer.

The photographer, Rusty Escandell, had been taking photos of surfers the whole day. But he didn’t see the manta ray in his photos till he got home. The photos show the rays jumping out of the water.

Manta rays

Manta rays are a type of fish with flat, diamond-shaped bodies. Among them, giant manta rays are the world’s largest rays and one of the largest fishes in the world. Giant manta rays are considered to be endangered (less in number) and are protected by the government.
