A small step for Preet Chandi, a huge step for womenkind

A small step for Preet Chandi, a huge step for womenkind!

It was just yesterday we gave you kids your daily dose of our very own women superheroes! As the sun shines bright today, we have such an amazing story to share about another superhero. Kids, please put your hands together for Preet Chandi.

To the South Pole and Beyond

As a youngster, she is someone who you should look up to. One could only dream to follow in her footsteps not only in academics but also in seeking adventures. After you complete your solo expedition to the South Pole, one of the extreme points on our planet Earth, all you think about is – coming back to the centre. Well, for starters it’s freezing cold at the South Pole (-80 degrees celsius).

Yep, you read that right, see you take the percentage I scored in one of my board exams and put a negative sign before it. And if you do catch a glimpse of a Polar Bear, you’d want fur as thick and warm as his.

40 days and 40 nights

Well, if Preet Chandi could survive and give such a lovely smile at the South Pole, you should smile too. And dream of going to the South Pole one day. It took Preet 40 days to cover this journey. She fondly thanked everyone for their support and strongly believes one should push one’s boundaries.

When she is not taking trips to the South Pole and inspiring all of us, she serves as a Physiotherapist in the British Army. She fixes bones, muscles and joints when one hurts oneself in the army.

Stay positive, stay energised

We at Curious Times stay energised and positive with such stories, we hope that you do too.

Check out this cool video from NASA Goddard on what it feels like to cover the South Pole.
