An app helps to find out how happy are the animals.

Is it easy for us to know how happy are our animals? Farmers are very close to their farm animals. They always need to know the emotional well-being of their farm animals. This helps them to give proper care to the animals, which supports their farming.

Now there is a reason for the farmers to cheer. In the recently held BBC Food and Farming Awards, an app called Farm App won a prize. Professor Francoise Wemelsfelder of Scotland’s Rural College developed this app.

The app is currently being used to find out the feelings of cows on the farms. The app records behavioural qualities of the animals such as being relaxed, playful, tense or anxious. These records help us to know their general well-being.

This app also helps to understand how different animals and species express their feelings. With this, the farmers can take better care of their animals.
