Café Arpan – People with super abilities serve delicious food!

Based in the financial capital of India a café not just makes yummy food but the food is served by people with super abilities. As you walk your way away from the city commotion in the neighbourhood of Juhu, you will find yourself greeted by Café Arpan. The place looks noticeable with sky blue exteriors and serves tea, coffee, shakes and international bites for those who love to just chill and hang out.

Inspired by a café that works on similar lines in the Philippines, Ashaita Mahajan started Café Arpan along with Yash Charitable Trust (YCT) to basically offer a safe working environment for their autistic son.

What is autism?

Autism is a mental condition where a person finds it difficult to socialise, communicate and form relationships with others.

Although Ashaita Majahan and her cousin Aarti Nagarkar were born only six days apart they share a very special bond through Café Arpan as co-founders. Through the café, they wanted to show that differently-abled people can live a dignified life if provided with an opportunity.

If you ever get a chance to visit Mumbai, don’t forget to visit this remarkable place. The food is delicious but the people who serve you with an open heart and long lasting smiles.
