Asterix is one of the main characters of a popular French-language comic series

The comic series is about a village of warriors in Gaul. It is the old name for Brittany, a region in France. They have adventures and fight against the Roman Empire which is controlling their country.

Fun facts about fearless Asterix!

  • Asterix was created in 1959 by writer René Goscinny and artist Albert Uderzo.
  • He is a short man with blonde hair and a moustache. He has a helmet with wings on it and wears a black shirt with red pants.
  • His best friend is Obelix and he has a dog named Dogmatix. Asterix and Obelix love to eat roasted boar (wild pigs) and go on adventures.
  • Asterix has a magic potion (drink), which he drinks to make himself strong! This potion is made by a person named Getafix in their village.
  • He is one of the smartest members of his village. He is also very brave and adventurous.
