Celebrate the magic of poems on World Poetry Day – 21 MarchPoetry is a type of writing.

Words are carefully arranged to create rhythm.
 	In many ways, a poem is just like a song.
 	It is a creative form of expression, where the language and words makes it interesting to recite and hear.

Some well-known Indian poets are Rabindranath Tagore, Sarojini Naidu, Mira Bai and Kabir Das, among others. Little curious readers, have you heard of them?

Nursery rhymes are also a form of simple poems. The rhythms can be so exciting - and most children love to dance and move while singing rhymes.

Some poems are fun to act out. Have you heard of this one?
The itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the waterspout.
Down came the rain
and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun
and dried up all the rain
and the itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.
