COVID-19 update – Omicron saga continues

As we settle into our day to day activities – kids who wake up early in the morning, drowsily head to their meet classrooms,  a few who are receiving plenty of sunshine and enjoying home-cooked food (warm and filled with mother’s love) – the scare of COVID-19’s variant Omicron refuses to settle down. Every day, flights get cancelled, someone in the neighbourhood is down with fever, coughs and headaches, more restrictions are being put in place.

The thought in everyone’s head is “Oh! I hope we don’t enter into another Lockdown!”. Let’s scan our eyes now to the outside world and see how Omicron is affecting other peoples’ lives.

India

We in India are starting to see an increase in cases every day, hold on – no need to panic! You might get fever, cough and cold without getting affected by Omicron. So if you do have any symptoms just take it easy, get yourself checked, take precautions and do as you’re told by experts.

Delhi Belly

Our capital city of Delhi has imposed a weekend curfew, which means a complete No-No to large gatherings and public places. Stay home, stay safe and maintain social distancing and personal hygiene.

Few other states

Other states like Mumbai, Rajasthan, Orissa, Punjab, Haryana and some others are also seeing an increase in cases. The good thing is that kids are starting to get vaccinated, granddads and grandmas will be getting booster shots. I also hope to see less celebrity airport looks :-). Well, when every celebrity’s servant’s cousin’s mom gets infected, the celebrity wants the whole world to be safe! Seriously! Hey! Who wants those booster jabs and rush to Disneyland?

The world

The WHO (World Health Organisation)’s chief is extremely positive, so I guess we should be too. Some countries like UAE need booster jabs for travel. Antarctica has seen a few cases, I hope the national geographic photographers, explores and adventure seekers are fine. In South Africa, the cases might have reached their maximum, phew! Good for them. Travel restrictions in France, Europe follow guidelines on a situation by situation basis.

We at Curious Times hope that things don’t go out of hand and everyone takes care of their loved ones. We believe in staying positive and like anything else, we strongly feel, “this time too shall pass”.

Stay curious kids and stay connected with us for your daily dose of curiosity!
