Covid leaves 80,000 tourists stranded in China’s Hawaii!

Hey there! We’ve got some interesting news for you! Imagine this: 80,000 tourists found themselves stuck in China’s version of Hawaii, a beautiful place called Sanya.

But why, you ask? Well, a sneaky coronavirus called Covid-19 caused a big problem there.

You see, the government had to close down a popular resort in Sanya because of an outbreak. And not just Sanya, but other cities too! They decided to put a lockdown in place to keep everyone safe from the virus.

The trouble began when four people in a suburb of Wuhan, the city where the first Covid-19 case was found, tested positive for the virus without showing any symptoms. Oh no! Because of this, the government had to take extra precautions. They wanted to make sure the virus didn’t spread to more people. Around one million folks were affected by this decision. That’s a lot, right?

Shanghai, another big city in China, also had a strict lockdown for two whole months! Can you imagine being stuck at home for that long? Finally, in June, they lifted the lockdown, and the people there were so happy.

Covid Adventures

  • Now, let’s get to the key facts, my friend. In Sanya, there were 263 confirmed cases of Covid-19. That’s why the government took such strict steps to stop the virus from spreading further.
  • Guess what? There are no flights or trains leaving the city! It’s like they built a giant wall to keep everyone in. But don’t worry, it’s for everyone’s safety.

  • If someone wants to travel, they need to show proof that they’ve had five negative PCR tests over seven days. It’s like a secret code to make sure they’re not carrying the virus.
  • China has a policy called “zero Covid,” which means they want to get rid of the virus completely. They’re really serious about it! But some people are worried about how these strict rules will affect the Chinese economy. It’s like a balancing act, you know?

  • In Sanya, they’ve put in place new rules. While essential places like pharmacies and grocery stores are still open, entertainment venues, like the ones where you have fun and play games, have been shut down. It’s a bit sad, but safety comes first!
  • So, that’s the story, my little friend. Covid-19 caused some unexpected adventures for the tourists in Sanya, and the government is doing everything they can to keep everyone safe. Remember, it’s important to follow the rules and stay healthy. Stay tuned for more fun and informative stories!
