Cricket: India posts easy win in 1st ODI vs Sri Lanka

India defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets to win the first ODI in Colombo, Sri Lanka. India is currently on a tour of Sri Lanka. They will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in the series, which will go on till 29 July 2021.
In the first ODI, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring 263 runs in 50 overs. India easily chased the total as captain Shikhar Dhawan stayed unbeaten on 86. India’s Prithvi Shaw was the Man of the match. The match was also an ODI debut (first match) for Indian players Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav, who performed excellently.
The next ODI match between the two will be on 20 July.
Rahul Dravid
The match also had a humorous moment at the beginning. Currently, Rahul Dravid is the Head Coach of the Indian team touring Sri Lanka and he was the centre of attention for many cricket lovers. Before the match started, the cameraman focused on Dravid when they sang the “Dravida Utkala Banga” portion of the Indian national anthem. Many fans noticed this and took to Twitter to show their appreciation.
