Do these newly-found bones belong to the largest dinosaur ever?

Largest dinosaur

A team of scientists in Patagonia, Argentina have found huge, 98-million-year-old fossils. They say that it may have belonged to the largest dinosaur ever discovered.

The bones belonged to the “super-sized titanosaur“, a member of the sauropod family of dinosaurs.

What were sauropods?

Sauropods were huge plant-eating dinosaurs with long necks and tails. They are believed to be the largest land animals to have ever lived. Sauropods could weigh as much as 50 tonnes (the same weight as about ten African elephants).

The discovery

The newly-found bones of the largest dinosaur are about the size of humans. They seem to be 10-20% larger than even those that belong to Patagotitan mayorum, the biggest dinosaur and sauropod ever identified.

Scientists are still digging at the same location and looking for more clues and bones. So, we will know more about it later.
