Dog alerts owner to a house fire next doorDogs are quite intelligent and smart. They often help humans in many different ways.

In Nashville, the US, a three-year-old Belgian Malinois named Roux became a hero by alerting his owner to a fire nearby.

On 4 July (independence day in the US), a man named Jeff LeCates noticed that Roux was barking “frantically and unusually” at the front door.

When Jeff opened the door, Roux ran out. Jeff followed him to the neighbour's house, which was on fire!

Jeff pounded on their door which woke them up. The family had been sleeping, unaware of the fire. They all ran out and firefighters arrived soon.

Thankfully, no one got hurt and it was all due to Roux's alert behaviour. The fire had been caused by leftover fireworks (which are usually used on independence day).

Surprisingly, Jeff and Roux met through the woman whose house caught on fire. She is a dog groomer who united the two after Jeff's previous dog passed away.
