Naomi first came into the limelight when she beat Serena Williams at the US Open in 2018 at the age of 20. This was her first Grand Slam title.
 	Right after that, she won her second Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2019.
 	She is the first Japanese player to win a Grand Slam. She is also the first Asian tennis player ever to be ranked No. 1 in the world.
 	Naomi was born in Japan, Osaka but grew up in the US. She is known for being quite shy and has shared on social media about her struggle with being unable to speak up.

According to Forbes Magazine, she earned over US$37.4 million last year. Serena Williams has been the highest-paid female athlete for the last four years.

This amount includes what she has earned in prize money as well as from advertisements.

What is Forbes Magazine's 100 highest-paid athletes in the world?

Forbes Magazine publishes an annual list of the 100 highest-paid athletes in the world. Last year, footballer Lionel Messi topped the list.
 	This year, Naomi Osaka (29th rank) and Serena Williams (33rd rank) are the only two women to be included in the list. This is also the first time the list features two women.

Women in sports are generally paid much lesser than men. This is an issue that many female athletes are fighting to change.
