Government discusses plans after lockdownConfirmed COVID-19 cases in the country stand at around 4800.

Prime Minister had a discussion with his Council of Ministers on how things can proceed when the 21-day lockdown ends.
 	Many states are in favour of extending the lockdown.
 	India has cancelled its earlier ban on the export of the medicine hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). HCQ is being used in other countries like the US to possibly treat COVID-19.
 	The central government also announced a pay cut of 30% for all MPs (Members of Parliament) for 1 year.
 	WhatsApp has introduced stricter messaging rules to stop the spread of fake information. Messages which have been previously forwarded five times or more can only be forwarded to one chat at a time now.
 	The Delhi government has decided to do random testing for coronavirus, mainly on the hotspots.
 	A Chennai hospital will be using a robot called Zafi at COVID-19 isolation wards to interact with patients.
 	China is donating 1.70 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) coveralls for health workers in India, to use while treating patients. Northern Railways have also developed a type of PPE.

Some efforts are being made to help migrant workers and daily wage labourers. A survey says that over 42% of all labourers don't have even a day's ration.

What is the situation worldwide?

There are over 1.3 million cases worldwide.
 	The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital intensive care. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 a while ago.
 	Japan has officially declared a state of emergency across 7 prefectures (states), including Tokyo, until 6 May.
 	China did not record a single death on Monday, the first time since January 2020.
