Why do we need Inner Line Permits (ILP) to visit some parts of Ladakh?

Ladakh is a very important area for India since it is on the border with Pakistan and China. Therefore Inner Line Permits (ILP) are required for all tourists to visit some areas, include Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake and the Durbuk Block.

Here is a short video of Ladakh, which reflects its beauty. However, it would be hard to capture the beauty of a place like this through a lens. Video credit: Reels and Frames/Youtube
