Indian women athletes shine at Tokyo Olympics

Indian women athletes shine at Tokyo Olympics Women athletes from India shine at the Tokyo Olympics.
Badminton player, P. V. Sindhu entered the singles' quarterfinals by beating Chueng Ngan Yi of Hong Kong. Sindhu is the only badminton player from India left in the competition. Female boxer Pooja Rani also registered a win against Ichrak Chaib of Algeria.

Meanwhile, Indian archer Deepika Kumari entered the pre-quarterfinals of the women's individual archery event. She won two matches against Jennifer Mucino Fernandez from the USA and Karma from Bhutan. Atanu Das also defeated Oh Jin Hyek to join individual pre-quarterfinals. However, archer Pravin Jadhav crashed out of the game after losing to world number 1 Ellison.

Moreover, Indian boxer, Satish Kumar entered the quarterfinals by defeating Ricardo Brown of Jamaica.

In badminton, B. Sai Praneeth did not win any game at the Olympics. Also, rowing champion, Arvind Singh missed out on a medal opportunity.
Olympic Medal Tally
The United States is on top with 31 medals overall. China is in second place with overall 27 medals. Russia is in third place with overall 23 medals. Japan won thirteen gold medals and they are in fourth place. India has trailed down to 46th position with one silver medal.
