Fortune Global 500 List is published by Fortune magazine every year. It ranks 500 firms around the world with the most income. This list uses data that is available to the public. It includes both businesses that are traded on the stock market and privately owned.

This year Walmart, Amazon and State Grid rank in the top three spots.

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) makes its first appearance on the Fortune Global 500 list this year, coming in at number 98. This puts it above every other Indian company on the list.

The Global 500 is a scorecard for a company’s performance.

Fortune Global 500 List!

• Walmart comes out on top, this time for the ninth year in a row.
• With earnings of $105 billion, Saudi Aramco holds the title of the most profitable corporation in the world.
• Mainland China (including Hong Kong) has the most companies (136) whereas the United States has 124.
• Japan is in the third position with 47.
• The combined revenue of Fortune Global 500 firms in Mainland China has surpassed the combined revenue of U.S. corporations.
• Companies that made the 2022 list are located in 229 cities and 33 nations and regions throughout the globe.
• In addition, they are responsible for the employment of nearly 70 million people around the world.
• This year there are 24 female CEOs of Fortune Global 500 firms.

Indian Companies on Fortune Global 500 List!

• Nine Indian companies feature on the Global 500 List. Reliance Industries ranks number 104.
• Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) moved up 28 spots to take the 142nd spot.
• Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) moved up 16 spots to reach the 190th spot.
• Tata Motors is ranked number 370, and Tata Steel is ranked number 435.
• Rajesh Exports is another private Indian company to make the list at number 437.
• The State Bank of India (SBI) moved up 17 spots to reach the 236th spot.
• Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd moved up 19 spots to reach the 295th spot.
