Indore is India’s cleanest city for the 6th time!

Indore bags India’s cleanest city title for the sixth year in a row. This was determined by the Swachh Survekshan study.
This achievement marks Indore’s sixth year in a row holding this title. Indore has held that position since 2017.
The Swachh Survekshan programme has determined that Surat, which is located in the state of Gujarat, is the second cleanest city. The city of Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra currently holds the third position.
Delhi comes in at number nine on the survey’s list. Eleventh on the list is the city of Noida, which is located in Uttar Pradesh and is in close proximity to the nation’s capital.
Bhopal has taken the sixth rank on the list of the top 10 cities. The fourteenth position is held by Chhindwara. Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, and Vijaywada are the three cities that represent Andhra Pradesh that is ranked among the top ten.
Chandigarh, which is praised for its urban planning, has climbed all the way up to the 12th slot on the list.

- The Swachh Survekshan study has been carried out annually since 2016.
- The topic of ‘People First’ served as the primary focal point this time around.
- The Swachhata Survekshan is currently the most comprehensive sanitation survey ever conducted.
- In 2016, it was started as a pilot initiative in more than 70 towns.
- In 2022, more than 4,000 cities have participated in it.
- The President, Droupadi Murmu, was the one to give the honours at the 2022 Swachh Survekshan awards.
