IPL 2022 Update, 13-May!

At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 12 May, the Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a score of five wickets. Mumbai Indians are back on track with this victory in IPL 2022.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) returned to winning ways in the IPL 2022. They defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on 11 May.

On the points table, Gujrat Titans are in the first place in the IPL 2022. Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are in second and third place, respectively.

Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings!

Chennai Super Kings bats first!

In the first over bowled by Daniel Sams, Chennai Super Kings lost in-form Devon Conway and Moeen Ali. Robin Uthappa was trapped LBW by Jasprit Bumrah, who delivered a wicket-maiden, to reduce CSK to 5-3.

MS Dhoni was at the crease, but after Ambati Rayudu and Shivam Dube were dismissed by Riley Meredith, Mumbai Indians maintained pressure on the Chennai Super Kings hitters. Dhoni hit his first six of the innings and was leading Chennai Super Kings’ charge with the bat at the halfway point with 65/6.

A superb bowling performance highlighted by Daniel Sams’ three-wicket haul restricted Chennai Super Kings to 97 runs in their first innings.

Mumbai Indians chase 98 runs!

Mumbai Indians lost Ishan Kishan in the first over.  The elegance of Rohit Sharma’s strikes placed Mumbai Indians in the lead.  However, the Mumbai Indians captain was caught behind off the bowling of Simarjeet Singh.

With Tilak Varma and Hrithik Shokeen at the crease, Mumbai Indians scored 36 goals during their power play. The duo forged a crucial partnership, which pushed them to that score.

The pair continued to score runs until Moeen Ali surprised Shokeen and smashed the stumps. Tim David smashed a century and scored the winning runs in the 15th over.

Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals!

  • The critical victory for Delhi Capitals came about as a result of an impressive century stand that was put together between Mitchell Marsh and David Warner.
  • In order to win, Delhi Capitals needed to score 161.
  • After losing an early wicket, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh led the way for the Delhi Capitals to comeback, and after six overs, they were 38-1.
  • Warner finished off the chase with a four in the 18th over, and in the process, he achieved the half-century mark.
  • As Rajasthan Royals finished their first innings with a score of 160-6, Shardul Thakur bowled the final over, which resulted in only six runs being scored.
