Japan is the first Asian country to host Rugby World Cup

Japan is the first Asian country to host Rugby World CupJapan is set to host this year's Rugby World Cup. This is the 9th edition of the tournament and the first time that an Asian country will be hosting it.

The tournament is from 20th September to 2nd November 2019.
 	Teams from 20 countries will be playing in the tournament. The teams have been divided into 4 groups, consisting of 5 teams each. The top two winners of each group will go on to the next round.
 	The opening match of the 2019 Rugby World Cup is on 20th September at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo and it will be played between Japan and Russia.
 	Some players to watch out for at this year's tournament are Brodie Retallick (New Zealand), Pieter-Steph Du Toit (South Africa). Alun Wyn Jones (Wales), Maro Itoje (England), and more.

World Rugby is the world governing body for the sport of rugby and it organises the Rugby World Cup once every four years. The Rugby World Cup was first held in 1987.

 	It is played between two teams of 15 players each, using an oval-shaped ball on a rectangular field with H-shaped goalposts at each end.
 	It originated in England in the first half of the 19th century.
