Kerala farmers get international award for Organic Farming
Recommended for India
Salutations, curious observer! Let us take you on a fascinating journey into the world of the KJKS, a group of super cool farmers from Kerala, India. They won a super-duper award for something called “organic farming.” Sounds like a mouthful, right? Don’t worry, I’ll break it down for you!
Once upon a time, in a place called Kerala, there were some awesome farmers known as the KJKS. They won a big, shiny award for doing something special with their farming. And guess what? This wasn’t just any award, it was a worldwide award! Imagine getting a golden star sticker, but way bigger!
You know how farmers grow our delicious veggies and grains? Well, sometimes they use special things called pesticides and insecticides to keep away the bad bugs that might eat their crops. But the KJKS farmers said, “No way!” They decided to do things differently. They wanted to be friends with nature and not use any of those icky chemicals.
Kerala’s Organic Heroes
- Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Organic farming is like magic for our food. Instead of using poisons, these farmers use love and care to grow the yummiest stuff. And guess what? The food turns out even healthier and tastier! So, when you eat those carrots or rice, you’re getting extra special goodness.
- The KJKS folks didn’t stop there. They’ve been like superheroes for 25 years! They saved a special kind of rice and veggies that are like the superheroes of plants – unique and amazing. They also taught people how to grow plants without using chemicals. Plus, they went to villages and showed families how to keep their homes free from “toxins.” Imagine telling those bad chemicals, “You can’t come in here!”
- Every year, they throw a big party called an organic farming festival. It’s like a fun school where everyone learns how to grow plants in cool new ways. Imagine dancing tomatoes and singing sunflowers – that’s how fun it is!
- Now, close your eyes and imagine this: The KJKS farmers wearing capes and flying around their farms, making friends with ladybugs and butterflies. They whisper secrets to the plants, and the plants dance happily. People from all over the world come to see how these special farmers do their magic. Maybe in the future, more farmers will learn from them and make our Earth even happier and healthier!
