Kochi Kids League – a football league exclusively for childrenHere's some good news for our young football enthusiasts. Organisers in Kochi and Bengaluru are setting up a football league especially for children.

The Kochi Kids League (KKL) is going to be a first of its kind.
 	It will feature 8 teams of 15 players each of children under the age of 12.
 	Both girls and boys can apply to be on the teams. The league is going to be gender-neutral.

The League

The matches will start on 19 January 2020 and will go on until February end.
 	The games will be played in Kochi, Kerala and on weekends.
 	Currently, trials are going on for the 120 players needed.
 	The auction (selection) of players for various teams will start on 22 December 2019.
 	Although the auction won't involve any money, the team organisers will fund the players' expenses like training, kits and jerseys.
 	Selected players will also undergo a 15-day training session during the Christmas break.

The organisers are planning to make the Kochi Kids League a permanent part of their city's sports calendar. More age categories will likely be included in the coming years.
