With Lollapalooza coming to Mumbai, the city is about to be engulfed in a whirlwind of culture, sound, and art.

What is Lollapalooza?

Lollapalooza is an international music festival that began in 1991.

It will be held in India for the first time with close to 40 artists performing on four stages. After more than three decades, the event has grown to be one of the biggest of its kind anywhere in the world.

This year is the first time the international festival has ever been held in India. Mumbai is the first city in Asia to host Lollapalooza. In addition, it is the eighth city in the world to do so overall.

• On January 28 and 29, up to 35,000 people will attend each day of the event.
• The event will feature close to 40 artists from around the world as well as Indian performers spread across four stages.
• The festival aspires to get people to talk to one another using music as the medium of communication.
• And it also serves as a means of bringing people together.
• In its early years, the Lollapalooza festival would make its way across all 50 states in the United States.
• The festival also unites performers, musicians, and promoters whose line of work involves festivities.
• Lollapalooza India intends to place a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility and inclusiveness.
• In order to get around, members of the team will be provided with transportation in the form of electric rickshaws and electric bicycles.
• The festival will also feature a variety of other attractions.
• The majority of the food options at the food park will have a strong connection to the Mumbai community.
• These options would range all the way from juice, vada pavs and bakery items.
• The festival, which will take place smack dab in the middle of Mumbai, is the result of almost three years’ worth of planning and preparation.
