Man runs half-marathon on his balcony for due to COVID-19 lockdownThere are many lockdowns all over the world such as India, the UK, the US and more due to the spread of the COVID-19 disease. While staying at home is the best way to prevent the disease, it has also put a stop to many outdoor activities.

Sam Hustler is a 27-year-old man who lives in the UK. He had been training to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon* before the lockdown. However, since he couldn't run outside anymore, he decided to do it on his balcony!

Sam was staying in isolation and felt bad that he couldn't run the marathon that he had been training so hard for.
 	He had also been planning to donate the money he makes from the running event to Haven House Children’s Hospice. This is an organisation which supports children with serious illnesses.
 	So, he decided to run the half marathon on his balcony, which is about four metres long.

Sam completed the run in 3 hours and 45 minutes. He basically ran on his balcony about 5500 times! He could also raise donations of about US$2400 for Haven House Children’s Hospice.

Sam's story shows that we can always think of different ways to do things that are important and also stay safe at the same time.

*A half marathon is a road running event of about 21 km.
