Postcard sent over 100 years ago arrives in the mail

How long has it taken for a postcard or letter to reach you? Brittany Keech, a woman living in Michigan, US got a big surprise when she went to her mailbox this week. Among her mail items, she found a postcard sent over 100 years ago!

Initially, Brittany did not pay attention to the postcard. She just thought it was unusual to receive a postcard nowadays. However, when she checked the postcard closely, she found that it was sent on 29 October 1920!

What is a postcard?

A postcard is a card for sending a message by post without an envelope. It usually has an image on the other side.

Postcards used to be sent to people during the holidays or when they travelled. Nowadays it is not a very popular way of communication and messaging.

From whom is this postcard sent over 100 years ago?

The postcard has Brittany’s home address but was sent to a person called Roy McQueen. The card is from a person named Flossie Burgess. The card talks about their family and how they are doing.

The postcard has a Halloween image with a black cat, a bat, an owl and even a jack-o-lantern.

Brittany or her family do not know these people. She has posted photos of it on Facebook to help find the real owners.
