Rapid increase in omicron cases: COVID-19 update

Omicron scare rises.

Omicron scare is increasing throughout the world. Everyone is scared of this virus, be it, kids or elderly people. Though it is said that omicron is not a very severe mutant, like delta, but it is highly infectious. So, kids, you need to take extra care of yourselves, and you have to take all the safety precautions.

India update

The omicron cases are rising in India. Delhi has reported 17,000 new cases in the last 24 hours. Mumbai has also recorded the highest number of omicron cases.

The unfortunate news is that several doctors are being diagnosed with covid. Recently, 256 police officials from Mumbai Police have tested corona positive.

Many states in India have imposed night curfew, weekend curfew and released new guidelines. We can save ourselves by following the corona guidelines, maintaining the social distance and masking up.

India vaccinated 1.5 crore children between 15 years and 18 years of age. With this, it is estimated that around 90% of India’s eligible population for the vaccine has received at least one dose of vaccination.

India has also imposed 7 days of mandatory home isolation after foreign travel. 125 people on a chartered flight from Italy to Amritsar, tested covid positive.

World update

The United States and the United Kingdom are the worst hit by the omicron variant of coronavirus. China is under lockdown while the United Kingdom has also announced lockdown. Further, in China, some of the imported fruits have got coronavirus traces.

A new virus, named ‘Flurona’, has emerged and been found in patients in France. It is said that it is a combined infection of influenza and COVID-19. Though only a few cases have been reported of the flurona virus, yet it is important for scientists to track it.

World Health Organization

World Health Organization said that omicron is less severe than the delta variant, but you shouldn’t take it mildly. Therefore, it is necessary to mask up and take all your vaccination on time.
