Russia to launch a humanoid robot into space

Russia to launch a humanoid robot into spaceRussia is all set to launch Skybot F-850, a humanoid robot to the International Space Station (ISS).

This robot will be the only passenger of the Russian Soyuz spacecraft.
 	It will monitor and report on conditions during the flight as it enters orbit and the start of zero gravity.
 	The Skybot F-850 has been developed as an all-purpose stand-in for humans. It will be used for rescue work, driving cars and also to fly into space.

The Skybot F-850 is made from strong materials designed to withstand vibrations during the launch and the demands of operating in space.
 	With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), the Skybot can move and act independently. It can also work in 'avatar mode' under the control of an operator wearing a full-body "control suit".
 	This may be the first Russian robot on the ISS, but NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have been working with robots on the space station for several years now.

Moreover, the most advanced robots on the ISS arrived earlier this year, with NASA's Astrobee project.
