See these new photos of amazing galaxies

See these new photos of amazing galaxiesLast week, the European Southern Observatory released new images of nearby galaxies. They were taken by the Very Large Telescope and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) telescope in Chile. along with the Hubble Space Telescope.

They called the images "cosmic fireworks". Why? In the images, you can see thousands of lights in each galaxy and each light is a young star. So, all of them together look like fireworks!

Apart from being how beautiful they are, these images of galaxies help astronomers get a better understanding of how stars form and evolve. They let us see the different stages in the life of a star.

These images of the galaxies help scientists to also understand how many different types of stellar (star) nurseries there are.
New telescopes
NASA is launching its latest and most advanced space telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope, by this year. With it, we will be able to observe the universe even better. The ESO is also currently working on building the new Extremely Large Telescope.
