Sports news: Indian Premier League postponed

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season has been postponed as more players have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has said that it is making arrangements to send foreign players back to their countries.

The BCCI is trying to see if they can hold the remaining 31 matches of the IPL after the T20 World Cup in October-November 2021.

Sports news: Champions League

English football club Manchester City are through to their first-ever UEFA Champions League final. They beat French football club Paris Saint-German in the semi-final to reach the final. City will face either Real Madrid or Chelsea in the final. The final will be held on 29 May 2021 at Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

 AFC Women’s Club Championship 2021

The champions of this year’s Indian Women’s League will play in the prestigious AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Women’s Club Championship 2021. It will be an 8-team tournament and will be played between 30 October and 14 November this year. The competition aims to boost the popularity of women’s football in India.

French Open 2021

This year’s French Open tennis tournament will be held from 30 May to 13 June. Due to COVID-19, a maximum of 1,000 fans will be allowed to watch matches.
