A rare comic book about Superman has recently sold for a record price – US$3.25 million (about ₹24 crores). This makes it the world’s most valuable comic book.
This comic is the first-ever one that features Superman. It is called Action Comics #1.
The comic was released in 1938. At that time, it was sold for 10 cents (about ₹7 today). Today, only about 100 copies of the comic still exist.
What is the story about?
One of the stories in the comic is about how Superman came to Earth from another planet and became known as “Clark Kent”. Clark Kent is Superman’s name when he is hiding his identity.
This comic is considered to be the start of comics about superheroes. A different copy of the same comic sold for US$3.2m in 2014.

Some famous superheroes today include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man and Iron-Man.
