The Festival of Milad-un-NabiThe festival of Milad-un-Nabi is celebrated by Muslims. It is to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.

It is also known as Nabi Day, Mawlid, Mohammad's Birthday, or the Prophet's Birthday.

It is a day dedicated to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Muslim parents tell stories of the prophet's life to their children.

In Islam, Prophet Muhammad is referred to as the messenger of God and the chief of all the prophets. It is believed that the Holy Quran was revealed to Him. Muslims don't generally celebrate births and deaths. But they do celebrate Prophet Muhammad's birthday. However, they do so in a quiet manner, as this is also his death anniversary.

On this occasion, people donate to charity. Families also gather together, feasts are arranged and food is served to guests and the poor.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi is a day to focus upon the character of the Prophet; on his teachings, sufferings, and how he forgave even his most bitter enemies.
