The U.K. agrees on Brexit deal with EU

The U.K. agrees on Brexit deal with EUAfter a lot of upheavals, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson finally agreed on a Brexit deal with the European Union (EU) on 17 October.

This is more than three years after the UK voted to leave the EU.
 	There was a joint news conference between European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Mr Johnson where they spoke about the agreement.
 	Mr Juncker said the deal meant there would be no need for a further delay to Britain’s departure.
 	Discussions on the UK and the EU's future relationship between would begin as soon as the UK and European Parliaments approve the new deal.
 	The European Parliament has said that it will approve the deal.

Now, Mr Johnson has to get approval for the agreement from the UK Parliament in a special session on 19 October.

However, this might be complicated for Mr Johnson, although he is confident that he will get the required number of votes.

Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), has refused to support it, saying the new deal is not in Northern Ireland’s interests. Mr Johnson needs their agreement to push through the approval.
 	One of the biggest issues of the deals for Brexit has been the delicate relationship between Northern Ireland and Ireland and its impact on the UK.  You can read more about it here.
 	The new agreement will keep Northern Ireland in the UK customs area. But tariffs will apply to goods crossing from mainland UK to Northern Ireland if they are headed to Ireland and into the EU’s market.
 	The head of the main opposition Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, also said he was “unhappy” with the agreement and would vote against it. The Labour party wants any deal to be approved by a public vote.
