Tribal Artists Make Splash on Online Platform
The Telangana Tribal Welfare Department has found a way to showcase their tribal artistic culture to the world. The department tried to sell the paintings of three tribal groups that hail from Telangana on Amazon.

The initiative is a huge success. The first batch of 17 paintings made by the artists from Gond, Koya and Naikpod communities have been completely sold out on Amazon.
 	These artists are now working in the Tribal Welfare Department in Hyderabad and they have completed another 35 paintings for the next batch.

Gond paintings stand out for their bright colours and intricate lines. Trees emerging out of birds and animals is one of its distinguishable features.
 	The Koya tribes in contrast, generally draw motifs of their sacred Hariveni posts and sacred flags.
 	The paintings of the Naikpod artists are reflections of face masks of their kings, characters in mythology including Pandavas like Bheema and traditional village deities.

D Satyanarayana, Curator of the Tribal Welfare Department and the Tribal Museum had come up with the idea to sell their traditional paintings on a platform like Amazon.
