U.K. elections: Boris Johnsons’ Conservative Party wins by big margin

U.K. elections: Boris Johnsons’ Conservative Party wins by big marginYesterday, the UK conducted general elections for its House of Commons (lower house).

The results are out and current Prime Minister Boris Johnsons' Conservative Party has won by a large majority.

The Conservative Party have won 364 out of total 650 seats up to now. 326 is the minimum number needed to form the government.
 	This is the Conservative Party's largest majority in the House of Commons since former PM Margaret Thatcher won a third term in 1987.
 	On the other hand, Labour Party suffered a loss, winning 203 seats only, about 40 less than it won last time. Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party head has said he will not be leading the party in future elections.
 	The Scottish National Party also performed well, winning 48 seats while the Liberal Democrats won 11, with the Liberal Democratic Party leader losing from her constituency.

How did people vote and what was the main issue?

Brexit was the arguable most important issue in this election.
 	The Labour Party suffered its worst defeat since 1935.
 	It lost support in many areas of the UK which have traditionally supported the Labour Party as these areas supported Brexit, which Mr Johnson is strongly working for.

What next?

Mr Johnson hailed the victory as "new dawn" and said that he would "fulfil the trust that people have placed in him". He also got re-elected as MP (Member of Parliament) for Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
 	Mr Johnson will be now meeting Queen Elizabeth II (the UK's head of state) to state his intent to form the government.
 	He promises that Brexit will be done by 31 January 2020.
