UGC standards for International Universities in India!

Recommended for Secondary Grades

UGC (University Grants Commission) has proposed rules for international universities setting up campuses in India.

What is the University Grants Commission?

The University Grants Commission is a government body that regulates guidelines for higher education in India.

Foreign universities who wish to set up campuses in India must be among the top 500, says the proposal.

International colleges with excellent reputations in their native countries could also submit proposals for setting up campuses.

Authorities hope that this will give India’s higher education system a global view. In addition to making India a good place to study if you want to get a foreign degree at an affordable price.

Key facts!

  • Foreign institutions will be required to build campuses in India under the proposed rules.
  • The universities can set up campuses in India through joint ventures with businesses.
  • They could also open a branch office in the country.
