UNICEF releases a healthy recipe book for children

UNICEF releases a healthy recipe book for childrenUNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) has released a book recommending healthy food recipes for children.

The name of this book is 'Uttapam to Sprouted Dal Ke Parathe'.

The 28-page book is based on the Comprehensive National Nutrition Survey 2016-18.
 	They also have another book along with the recipe book which has information about the causes and effects of being underweight, overweight and anaemia on children's health.
 	The book lists out recipes with the cost of preparation for each item.
 	It also has details on nutrition like the amount of protein, carbohydrate, fat, fibre, iron, vitamin C and calcium in each item.
 	Dishes like potato-stuffed paratha, paneer kathi roll and more have been recommended to tackle being underweight.
 	Dishes to combat obesity (overweight) are sprouted dal parantha, poha, etc.

According to UNICEF, there are two stages of human life in which nutrition plays an important role - the first 3 years and the adolescent age (around 10 to 20 years).

Globally, today, 1-in-3 young children are undernourished or overweight.
