Have you ever seen a gargoyle or gargoyles?

What is a gargoyle?

A gargoyle is a statue, seen on the side of old buildings, especially in Europe. It is usually shaped like the head of a strange and ugly creature, and water pours out of it from the roof of the building.

Due to how scary it looks, gargoyles have been part of many fantasy books, movies and video games.

One of them is an old popular American cartoon show called Gargoyles.

In this show, the Gargoyles are a species of creatures that look a bit like humans but with wings. They active at night but turn to stone during the day. They lived in Scotland during ancient times. But due to magic, they are turned into stone permanently for a thousand years.

Then, in 1994, the Gargoyles are brought to New York City, US and they wake up. In the city, they work with a kind police officer named Elisa Maza to protect the city.

The show is much loved by fans for its excellent story, characters and art.
