What is tiny, poisonous and orange in colour? A frog called “pumpkin toadlet“.

Pumpkin toadlets are a type of very small frogs found in Brazil, South America. As its name says, it’s as brightly coloured, just like orange soda. It is also very poisonous.

A new type of pumpkin toadlet was recently discovered in the Atlantic rainforests of Brazil. Scientists spent about 2 years studying this new frog.

It also glows green under a special kind of light. The light is called UV or ultraviolet light.

Humans cannot see the green glow normally. But other animals in the forest can. Scientists say that it warns off other animals who may want to eat the frogs.

Scientists also found many of these frogs in the forest. This is very good news as frogs are becoming less in number today.

How many species of frogs exist on Earth?

There are over 5,000 species of frogs known to science till now. They are found on every continent except Antarctica.

See this cute frog in the video below.
