Water taxi service to be launched in Mumbai

Have you ever heard about water taxis?
A ‘water taxi’ is a watercraft that is used for public and private transport between two harbours.
The water taxi services will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the first week of January 2022. Infinity Harbour Services and West Coast Marine will own the license of the taxi services.
The water taxi will be functional between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai harbours. The travel time will be reduced by 75%. The taxis will connect Domestic Cruise Terminal (DCT) in Mazgaon to Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, and Jawaharlal Nehru Port(JNPT). Moreover, one route will connect the International Cruise Terminal to Elephanta Caves.
The water taxis will operate for 330 days per year. The rides will be arranged three times a day between 8 AM to 8 PM. The boats will travel the same routes in the morning, evening and night.
